Tender Mercies in the TKM: Kevin

One day Kevin listened to one of his favorite gospel songs from his childhood. It brought back memories and he felt the spirit. As the song ended, the missionaries knocked on his door.

Kevin told the missionaries he was busy and was unable to talk to them at that time. They asked if they could come back at a better time, and he said they could come back later. Later Kevin told them he didn’t expect that they would really come back so he was surprised when they did.

Kevin was curious about the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and wanted to get a first-hand perspective. The missionaries shared the message about Joseph Smith, the First Vision, and the restoration of the church of Jesus Christ. As he listened to the elders, the message they shared piqued his interest even more.

Elder Bronson and Elder Hassard invited Kevin to come to church. Kevin shared that the first time he came to church, he felt really intimidated, but he felt really curious about the messages he heard. The members of the Rotherwood Ward were very kind and Kevin made many new friends. The friendliness of the members really helped him recognize the power in the messages he heard. After he learned the doctrine, and saw how people treated each other in his new church family, he wanted to be a part of this community.
