The missionaries met Callie through her friend Olivia. Olivia is a recent convert who was baptized in October 2024. Callie plays softball with Olivia at Chatt State.
When the Ooltewah Elders were teaching Olivia with the East Ridge Sisters, Callie showed up and expressed to them that she wanted to deepen her relationship with God. They exchanged numbers with her and started having lessons. Over time Callie was progressing quickly but there was something holding her back. She expressed to the missionaries she felt she should stop meeting with the missionaries and take time to figure out some personal things that were going on in her life.
On Christmas Day 2024, Callie reached out to the sister missionaries wishing them a Merry Christmas and expressing to them that she wanted to meet up when she got back into town. When the Ooltewah elders met with Callie, the spirit was so strong during the lesson! It was very evident that this time Callie was ready to make big changes in her life and wanted to prepare for baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. She knew that making a covenant with God would make her life easier.
Callie was baptized on February 4, 2025 and was so happy to make this covenant with God!
